I started prgramming in 1997 when I was just 13, and was quickly drawn to the (relatively new) web medium and have been working as a professional web-developer since 2001. I've extensively studied all areas of web-development within the Open-Source stack, from the backend (PHP, (My)SQL, Apache, Security and Setup), all the way to the frontend (CSS, (X)HTML, Standards, Accessibility, Flash and Javascript) and I have the code and skills to prove it!
I'm a freelance web-developer based in the lovely city of Newcastle in the UK, and I'm available for contract programming or consultancy anywhere in the country.
My CV is available in all the formats of the rainbow, so grab a copy and take a peek for a formal view into my programming work / skills.
OOPStudios.com is my personal site, it houses all of my Open-Source projects and other code experiments from sometime in 2006. In a way it also acts as my CV and Portfolio
...I added 5,000 lines, and removed 12,000 lines of the now defunct program X in order to solve some obscure problem you probably dont care to understand...
Yeah. Sometimes it's hard to convey the skillset of a programmer, but I'm quite happy to say that in web-development terms I'm very good. The site exists as a place for me to develop and keep track of my projects, which I then use for my commercial / freelance work.
It also serves as a teaching environment when forum members, or casual visitors ask me questions I tend to upload my examples here.
Sometimes an example becomes a project, like -DLINK- did.
Is to keep learning, be nice, and not be lazy. Some people would say I'm odd, but I just like to mess with my thoughts and ideas, sometimes I think that that I dont even have a box to think outside of anymore... Love it!
I never really drink or take drugs or smoke or sleep and I like it that way.
Another thing that rings true to me is if I can't see a good reason why not, then that's a compelling reason why. For example, "why not build an arcade cabinet?" If you thought "cause I dont know how" then you need to re-read the first sentance again.
The ONL - OOPStudios Nice Licence is a licence I wrote myself to release my code under. Why? Well, the various creative commons licences are all very nice, but they're just not me! And if you were ever to meet me you'd know that I wont let an idea pass me by, see my philosophy above ;)
I'm very happy to say that about 99% of everything on this site is 100% created by me. There are of course a few exceptions:
